Half Marathon/10K/5K: Overall M/F, Masters M/F and top 3 in each division. Age groups 13 & under, 14–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+. (There will not be awards for a walking category for any of the races)

Park opens at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee is $5.00 unless you have a yearly park pass, then it’s free. Park attendants will be available to sell annual and day passes on Saturday at packet pick up. (Cash or check only)

Packet Pick-Up

Saturday, November 7th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Independence Oaks County Park in the Twin Chimney’s Shelter. (9501 Sashabaw Rd., Village of Clarkston, MI 48348). New Registrations will be accepted Saturday only. You can also purchase your park pass during this time if you do not already have one. (The pass will be good for both Saturday and Sunday’s park entrance)

Sunday packet pick-up is 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. at the Twin Chimney’s Shelter at Independence Oaks County Park. Sorry, no race day registrations accepted.

Post-Race Party

Relax by a fire and enjoy live music and warm food! We are pleased to announce the post race party will include live music, cold beer from Short’s Brewing and the famous Clarkston Union/Woodshop Mac and Cheese. The opportunity to purchase beer and post race food will be available to spectators. Tickets are sold for $4 each on site during the race.  You must be 21 years of age, with a valid drivers license to purchase a beer. Strictly enforced. No beer will be allowed outside of the tent. Please respect park rules.  Tent will be monitored by Oakland County Sheriff.

Pace Teams

Please welcome, for the seventh year, Your Pace Or Mine (YPOM) to the half marathon! The group will be offering pace teams led by experienced pacers for finish times between 1:40 and 2:45. If you have a goal time that you need help attaining, or you just want to run with some fun people, consider joining one of the pace teams. Waterford Bank, N.A. Clarkston Back Roads Training Program

Waterford Bank, N.A. Back Roads Half Marathon 10K/5K races are pleased to partner with Socially Motivated Wellness in offering a training program for all race distances.

All programs will meet once a week.  Participants will be placed in groups depending on their pace, or the time it takes them to complete a mile.  All running and walking will be done with an interval method of training.
