How does the race work this year?
The 8th annual race will look a little different this year as your health and safety are our top priorities. That being said, we will not be having a large in person event this November, but instead we invite you to run in small groups of family and friends, or enjoy the park trails & back roads in solitude during the first week of November- or really, whenever works for you! (At the park or in the comfort of your own neighborhood. Please be sure to follow proper social distancing guidelines, good hygiene and the rules of the park)
What do you get with Registration?
- An awesome Back Roads long sleeve tech shirt (guaranteed if registered by 7 a.m. on October 9th). Unisex shirt sizes include S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. ($1.50 charge extra for 2XL) Youth unisex sizes include S, M, L, and XL.
- An official race bib
- A 20% off coupon to Union Joints restaurants- good for the runner’s meal. (excluding alcohol) valid for 30 days post race.
- The warm fuzzies knowing you are supporting 3 of our favorite charities (DRAW, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital & The Jen Phyle Scholarship)
- The chance to win gift cards to Runnin’ Gear, Amazon, Union Joints restaurants and maybe a few others!
Post Race Fun
We are super bummed we can’t gather to celebrate the race like we normally would with live music, bonfires, warm mac & cheese and cold beer, but Union Joints will be providing a 20% off coupon for you to grab some mac & cheese (or whatever you’re craving!) post race.
Also, while you’re at Independence Oaks County Park running your race, (or in the comfort of your own neighborhood) snap a photo at the start, finish or while you are on the course and later post it to our Facebook event page.
On the evening of Sunday, November 8th, when we should all be home recovering from what would normally be “race day” we will jump on Facebook and do a drawing for everyone that registered and posted a photo throughout the week. We will give out gift cards to Runnin’ Gear, Amazon, Union Joints restaurants and more!
Awards
Unfortunately there will not be any official race awards this year.
