10k Start: 9:30 a.m.
5k Start: 9:45 a.m. (due to the route and traffic inside the park all those running the 5k should be at the Twin Chimney site and parked no later than 9:15 a.m.)

Half Marathon/10K/5K: Overall M/F, Masters M/F and top 3 in each division. Age groups 13 & under, 14–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+.

Parking

Park opens at 7:30 a.m. Entry fee is $5.00 unless you have a yearly park pass, then it's free. Park attendants will be available to sell annual and day passes on Saturday at packet pick up. (Cash or check only)

Packet Pick-Up

Saturday, November 11th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Independence Oaks County Park in the Twin Chimney's Shelter. (9501 Sashabaw Rd., Village of Clarkston, MI 48348). New Registrations will be accepted Saturday (cash or check only) You can also purchase your park pass during this time if you do not already have one. (The pass will be good for both Saturday and Sunday's park entrance)

Sunday packet pick-up is 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. at the Twin Chimney's Sheter at Independence Oaks County Park. Sorry, no race day registrations accepted.

Post-Race Party

Relax by a fire and enjoy live music and warm food! We are pleased to announce the post race party will include live music, cold beer from Motor City Brewing Works and the famous Clarkston Union/Woodshop Mac and Cheese. The opportunity to purchase beer and post race food will be available to spectators. You must be 21 years of age, with a valid drivers license to get into the beer tent. Strictly enforced.

Pace Teams

Please welcome, for the fourth year, Your Pace Or Mine (YPOM) to the half marathon! The group will be offering pace teams led by experienced pacers for finish times between 1:40 and 2:45. If you have a goal time that you need help attaining, or you just want to run with some fun people, consider joining one of the pace teams. CSB Backroads Training Program

This year the Clarkston State Bank Backroads races are pleased to partner with Socially Motivated Wellness in offering a training program for all race distances.  

All programs will meet once a week on at Independence Oaks County Park.  Participants will be placed in groups depending on their pace, or the time it takes them to complete a mile.  All running and walking will be done with an interval method of training.
